 Our program is quickly becoming the best place to come to in the city for
VBS. Families plan their vacations around this event.
Generally held the last week of June from 4 to 7:30 pm all the adult and
youth members team together to create the most awesome Bible experience
the children will have all summer. Every year is a different theme.
All activities are planned around this theme. The children do
crafts, learn songs, play games, experience demonstrations and how
scriptures are applied to real life, hear Bible stories and see them
dramatized. We supply dinner for the children. Every
year we have a new cool t-shirt available for the kids to purchase. VBS is
for children 2 ½ through 5th grade. Fifth graders have
special assignments throughout the week in addition to hearing the Bible
Stories and taking in the fun activities.. They paint the framed canvas
for VBS, they do opening and closing ceremonies, they are in charge of the
mission project. Our grand finale was particularly awesome. We
ended our week with closing ceremonies and a huge party where the parents
were invited to enjoy dinner, watch the kids play on the moon bounce, ride
the ponies and enjoy the animals in the petting zoo. But it doesn’t
stop there. The following Sunday is dedicated to the children at
VBS. All the campers are invited back to our church for the service
and to watch their children perform some of the music they learned from
the week before. Please paln to join us in 2004. It is

Children
make Advent ornaments on November to hang on the Christmas tree the first
Sunday ofAdvent in the Sanctuary during the 11:00 am service. Our
Children’s Christmas store has been a big hit. The congregation donates
items to stock our store and the children are invited to come shop for
their moms and dads and any other special people in their family. Adults
gift wrap their purchases so they are ready to place under the tree. A
Christmas Eve Family Service is held each year at 5:30 pm and the children
participate in a pageant
and the children’s choir performs. For the past 4 years, SPPC has invited
our newest baby boy to play the Baby Jesus together with his mom and dad
to play the Holy Family. 
The
children begin working on their resurrection crosses to kick off Lent and
preparing for their traditional Palm Procession on Palm Sunday. The
following Sunday children, youth and adults work together to present our
Outdoor Passion Play. It is an enthralling time as the members act out the
experiences of "Holy Week". This outdoor production ends in the
crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The play is especially appropriate for elementary children as well as adults. Congregational Care works hard to provide a continental breakfast all morning before the 11 am
service. The play is performed during our normally scheduled Sunday School
hour at 9:40 to 10:45 am. Any children joining us for Children’s Church
will enjoy an EASTER Egg Hunt. Won't you join us this coming year?
