A FEW SPECIAL ALL-CHURCH FELLOWSHIP EVENTS:

  • Rally Day--Sunday, September 12, 9:45--Fellowship Hall--Come for a taco breakfast and introductions to new Sunday School classes. After we eat, teachers will be introduced, and children and youth will be dismissed to their classes. Adults will remain in the Fellowship Hall for conversation and some information about their classes (which will begin on September 19).
  • Wednesday Night Program/Dinners--October 6-November 17, 6:00-6:30 PM--An opportunity to eat and fellowship together before the Wednesday night classes, Middle School Fellowship, and/or choir held from 7:00-7:30.
  • Faith's Installation Service--Sunday, October 17, 3:00 PM--This is a special worship service officially installing Faith as Associate Pastor here at SPPC. The congregation is invited and encouraged to be present. Eugene H. Peterson, the translator of The Message, a popular contemporary version of scripture, will deliver the sermon.  A reception will follow.
  • Annual Fellowship Festival Picnic--Sunday, October 24 at 4:00 PM--Encino Park Community Center. Bring a dessert. The rest of the meal will be provided. (Cost is $5.00 per person, with children under 3, free.)
  • Enchilada Dinner--Sunday, December 5, 7:00 PM--preceeded by the Children's Christmas Market and a Hand Bell Choir program.  There will also be a puppet show during dinner!
  • Lazy Lunches--periodic fellowship lunches following the 11:00 service.

ADULT EDUCATION:

Sunday School Classes (9:45-10:45):

  • Friends and Conversation--exactly as it sounds, this class gives you an opportunity to meet some new friends and to discuss books or ideas which are relevant to your life as a Christian. This class will be discussing The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis.

  • Pastor Calvin's Class--a discussion of various aspects of Reformed theology.
  • Pastor Faith's Class--Seeing God in Film--using excerpts from contemporary films, we will see and discuss
