Children's Ministry Overview

Here's an overview of our Children's Ministry program and the opportunities that are available for children in our church.

Children's Education Programs

• Sunday School -- Classes are held for children age 3 through 5th grade from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.  A summer Sunday School program focuses on a special curriculum.
  
• Children's Church -- Children's Church for children age 3 through 3rd grade starts after the children's sermon during the 11 a.m. worship service.  We provide an age-appropriate version of the adult worship service.  Children in 4th or 5th grade are asked to stay with their parents in the sanctuary.
• Special Classes -- Classes are held on a regular basis to help educate children about different phases in their Christian life.
  
  1. Families at the Table: Baptism/Communion Class explains the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion to 3rd through 5th graders and their parents.
  2. Created by God Retreat is a new curriculum designed for 5th, 6th and 7th students and their parents led by medical professionals.  The material covers human sexuality, how the church views morality, and how families and the church can partner to teach, protect and equip our children to make wise choices as they grow to adulthood.
• Vacation Bible School -- VBS is an annual week-long events held in June.  Crafts, games, music, life application guest speakers and Bible stories and scriptures all revolve around one Biblical theme and message.  VBS is for children 4 years old through 5th grade.  The theme of our 2010 VBS is "High Seas Expedition."  It will be held Monday, June 14 through Friday, June 18 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the church.
  

Music Education
The music education program consists of the Solid Rock Singers, Ringers and Chimes.  Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings and on Wednesday nights.

Sunday Morning

• Choir (Ages 5 through 5th Grade) - 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
• Choir (Ages 3 & 4) - 10:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Wednesday Night
San Pedro's Wednesday Night Program is open to children ages 5 through 5th grade.  It runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Children may eat dinner.  Pizza is served in the K-First Grade Room in the Arnold Building.  Or children may eat in Fellowship Hall.  The cost is $2.00 per child.
